A Seat Near the Window

Lena usually read messages on the train to school. One Friday, her phone battery was almost empty, so she put the phone in her bag. She sat near the window and watched the streets outside.

She saw a little bakery with a red door. Then the train passed a park where people were walking their dogs. Lena had taken this train for six months, but she had never noticed these places. The trip felt different without a screen.

On Saturday, Lena visited the bakery with her brother. They bought two rolls and ate them in the park. She did not stop using her phone. She simply decided to look out of the window on the train sometimes.
