Priya arranged an online meeting with a new colleague in another city. She wrote nine o'clock in her message and sent a calendar invitation. The colleague accepted it immediately. Priya assumed the time was clear and moved on to her other work.

The next morning, she joined the call at nine, but nobody else appeared. Before sending an angry message, she checked the invitation. Its time zone was set to the city where she had traveled the previous week. The event on her colleague's calendar was an hour later than she intended.

Priya corrected the invitation and explained the mistake. Her colleague suggested adding the city and time zone to future messages, even when a calendar link was included. They met later that morning. The problem was not that someone had ignored the invitation; it was that both had trusted a setting neither had checked.
