The Parcel Next Door

On Tuesday, Alex came home and found a small parcel outside his door. He was waiting for a book, but the box was much bigger than he expected. Before opening it, he looked at the name on the label. It was for his neighbor, Mrs. Chen.

Alex carried the parcel next door and rang the bell. No one answered. He did not want to leave the box in the rain, so he took it inside his own apartment. He wrote a short note and put it under her door. The note included his apartment number.

Mrs. Chen came over that evening. The parcel contained a lamp for her desk. She thanked Alex and asked about his book. The next morning, his book arrived in a thin envelope. This time, Alex checked the label first and smiled.
